Question of the Week

Question for the week of November 8, 1999:

Our question this week comes from Malin in Sweden

Which is the best book about Strip Piecing?

Elena :
I learned to piece using Joan Hanson & Mary Hickey's "Joy of Quilting". Several of the lessons cover strip piecing. The directions are clear and well illustrated. Plus, the patterns are cool.

Lisa :
I love Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day books... they are so easy to follow. I think the best book to begin with is the log cabin.
irene :
I also like quilt in a day
lois :
take a look at Bethany Renold's "Stack and Whack" book.
Jean :
I like all of the Quilt in a Day books.
Their strip piecing patterns and methods are
so easy to do!
JENNIE PASQUALICHIO :
I STARTED WITH ELEANOR BURNS AND HAVE MOST OF HER BOOKS. SHE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THE PERSON WHO PIONEERED STRIP QUILTING.
sue whiteman :
I'm not sure there is any one book that can be considered the best. Many good authors specialize in strip piecing. I have to say that I have learned the most from Elenor Burns group and I also like Mary Ellen Hopkinsa
