Question of the Week

Question for the week of December 28, 1998:

Our question this week comes from Sue T

Now that Christmas is over, I have to ask:

What new quilting toys did you get for Christmas this year?

Kathleen, Washington :
My husband upgraded my computer with an iMac--I was able to see the WWQuilting Page for the first time!!!It's great!!
The computer and the page.

Patty H. in LANCASTER, PA :
A new Ott Light - floor model. My daughter also likes it next to her piano. It gives great light.
= Brenda Lane :
A calculator that can add and subtract fractions
without converting to decimile form. It also
calculates yards, area and other functions.
It came from a word working shop - and was
designed for home handy men.
kelly from MA :
I, too have the wonderful hubby. I received an Ott light and a plexiglass table for my Bernie. Quilt stores with Wish Lists are the greatest.
Bernice Simmons :
BH presented me with new Bernina 2-sole walking foot with seam guide and the piping foot. Haven't tried either out as I am still learning the Artista 180 software I got last Christmas. So many new things to learn, so little time.
Ruth L. from Iowa :
EQ3! Don't I have wonderful kids? I'm working my way through the book and having fun with it. Good thing we had a snowstorm today--shoveling got me off my seat at the computer!
helen m :
Quiltsoft software and new book called "Quilter's Computer Companion" great stuff. This computer stuff is addictive, if i could figure out how to sew at the computer i would be all set.
Stacye Westeen :
The quilting light that wraps around
your wrist and the light is actually at
the tip of your quilting finger, for
quilting in low light. It is really

Santa brought me a Husqvarna Rose Machine, Plus size hoop and an additional embroidery disk!!
Nice Santa.
Donna Myers from Las Vegas :
I have my hubby well trained: I marked the Keepsake Quilting catalog and left it by the phone, so I got everything I wanted! 3 books, packets of watercolor squares, several ironing accessories, and over $300.00 worth of fabric!!! Plus, a new cutting table from Fabric Boutique! I love my husband!!! By the way, if anyone visits Las Vegas, Fabric Boutique's ad doesn't lie...they have EVERYTHING!
Heather, Clarkston MI :
Hubby gave me an opaque projector - great for enlarging applique designs. He also gave me hand dyed fabric, two books and a few patterns all of which he ordered from Keepsake quilting. I guess leaving a marked catalogue on his desk works!

trial machine but it only weighs 22
portable pounds. You have got to ask
