Question of the Week

Question for the week of May 11, 1998:

Our question this week comes from Jerry Smith

I need some help in making a puffed quilt, any helpful hints?

p.k. smith :
I sew the pieces to be puffed together, except for the closing seam, and then stuff the quilt. Then I seam it closed by adding the next un-stuffed piece or row.

Pam Woolley :
Here's a site that has directions for making a puff quilt. Hope it helps.

llynnda doerner :
try making what is known as biscuit qui
lting. It is made by using two sizes of
squares. Perhaps one 5 in, and one 6in.
Pleat out the extra on the large square
and place wrong sides together. sew
aroung 3 sides using 1/4 in seams and
stuff lightly. Then sew the last side.
Make as many as needed and sew right
sides together. by using different
colors you can also make a design while
putting it together. Add batting if
you want and backing to clean finish
and this can be tied to finish
