    Thanks for the tip!!  I am now way too afraid to look inside.  I hate to think what I might find...  Please let us know how much the re-wiring will run.
    Made me just remember a repairman here who completely re-did my singer treadle machine after it was left in the rain and rusted shut.  He only charged me $50 to bring it back up to working condition.  Think I will take mine into him.  I love it too much to let old wiring ruin our relationship.

Hey Jo Anna, Mary Lou brought up the issue of pressing gently to not distort the fabric.  I usually don't press with an iron as I piece.  I finger press, running my nail across the fold to open out pieces.  I agree with Mary Lou that pressing can really throw the pieces out of allignment!
