This new catalog presents the quilts from the latest Quilt National biennial competition in 112 pages of excellent color photos. (This exhibit opened this June at the Dairy Barn in Ohio and will be traveling the country in several parts over the next few years.) A large number of the artists are new names for this show and present some fresh perspectives on art quilting. Many of the artists utilize a combination of various surface design techniques to make a painterly statement in their work. This is an excellent book which should be of interest to anyone seeking inspiration and documents some of the best work being done in the field.
