 four 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles of Fabric A
eight 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles of background fabric
twenty 2" squares of Fabric C
eight 2" squares of Fabric B
twelve 2" squares of background fabric
four 2" squares of Fabric A
two 4-3/4" squares of Fabric A
one 4-3/4" square of Fabric C
one 4-3/4" square of background fabric

 Piecing the Block

 1) On the wrong side of the 4-3/4" background fabric square, lightly mark two lines as shown, dividing the larger square into four 2-3/8" squares. Then, mark a diagonal line through the center of each of the smaller squares as shown.
 2) Place the marked background fabric square, right sides together, with one of the 4-3/4" squares of Fabric A making sure that all the edges are even. Sew 1/4" away from each side of the four marked diagonal lines as shown.

3) With a rotary cutter, carefully cut the sewn 4-3/4" squares apart on the marked lines as shown. Press the seam allowances toward the darker fabric. This will yield eight half square triangles measuring 2" square.
 4) On the wrong side of the remaining 4-3/4" Fabric A square, lightly mark two lines as shown, dividing the larger square into four 2-3/8" squares. Then, mark a diagonal line through the center of each of the smaller squares as shown.
 5) Place the marked Fabric A square, right sides together, with the 4-3/4" square of Fabric C making sure that all the edges are even. Sew 1/4" away from each side of the four marked diagonal lines as shown.
 6) With a rotary cutter, carefully cut the sewn 4-3/4" squares apart on the marked lines as shown. Press the seam allowances toward the darker fabric. This will yield eight half square triangles measuring 2" square.
 7) Take one 2" square of background fabric, one of the half-square triangles completed in Step 3, and one 2" square of Fabric B and piece together as shown. Repeat three more times to make a total of four components. Press the seam allowances away from the half-square triangle and toward the 2" fabric squares. The completed units should measure 2" x 5".
 8) Take one of the remaining half-square triangle units completed in Step 3, one of the 2" Fabric C squares, and one of the half-square triangle units completed in Step 6 and piece together as shown. Repeat three more times for a total of four components. Press seam allowances toward the Fabric C square. The completed units should measure 2" x 5".
 9) Take one of the 2" squares of Fabric B, one of the remaining half-square triangle units completed in Step 6, and one of the 2" squares of Fabric A and piece the squares together as shown. Repeat three more times to make a total of four components. Press the seam allowances away from the half-square triangles and toward the 2" fabric squares. The completed units should measure 2" x 5".
 10) Take one of the units completed in each Steps 7, 8, and 9 and piece together together as shown. Repeat with the remaining units from Steps, 7, 8, and 9 to form four 5" squares. Press all seam allowances away from from the center of the just completed squares.
 11) Light mark a diagonal line, as shown, on the wrong side of the eight remaining 2" squares of background fabric.
 12) Place one of the marked 2" background fabric squares, right sides together, with one of the 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles of Fabric A with the diagonal line placed as shown. Sew on the marked diagonal line. Repeat with three more of the marked background fabric squares and the three remaining Fabric A rectangles.
 13) Trim 1/4" away from the diagonal sewn line and press seam allowances toward the 2" background fabric square. These completed units should measure 2" x 3-1/2".
 14) Place one of the remaining marked 2" background fabric squares, right sides together, with one of the units completed in Step 13 with the diagonal line placed as shown. Sew on the marked diagonal line. Repeat with the three remaining 2" background fabric squares and the three remaining units from Step 13.
 15) Trim 1/4" away from the diagonal sewn line and press seam allowances toward the 2" background fabric square. These completed units should measure 2" x 3-1/2".
 16) Light mark a diagonal line, as shown, on the wrong side of the sixteen remaining 2" squares of Fabric C.
 17) Place one of the marked 2" Fabric C squares, right sides together, with one of the 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles of background fabric with the diagonal line placed as shown. Sew on the marked diagonal line. Repeat with seven more of the marked Fabric C squares and the seven remaining background fabric rectangles.
 18) Trim 1/4" away from the diagonal sewn line and press seam allowances toward the 2" Fabric C square. These completed units should measure 2" x 3-1/2".
 19) Place one of the remaining marked 2" Fabric C squares, right sides together, with one of the units completed in Step 18 with the diagonal line placed as shown. Sew on the marked diagonal line. Repeat with the seven remaining 2" Fabric C squares and the tseven remaining units from Step 18.
 20) Trim 1/4" away from the diagonal sewn line and press seam allowances toward the 2" Fabric C square. These completed units should measure 2" x 3-1/2".
 21) Take one of the units completed in Step 15 and two of the units completed in Step 20 and piece together as shown making sure that the "geese" are flying in the right direction. Repeat with the three remaining Step 15 units and the six remaining Step 20 units. Press the seam allowances toward the center unit. The completed rectangles should measure 3-1/2" x 5".
 22) Take two of the pieced squares completed in Step 10 and piece together with one of the "geese" units completed in Step 21 as shown completing the top row of the Arrow Crown quilt Block. Make sure that the Step 10 units are pointing in the right direction. Repeat with the two remaining Step 10 squares and one more of the Step 21 units to completed the bottom row of the quilt Block. Press seam allowances toward the Step 10 pieced squares. The completed rows should measure 5" x 12-1/2".
