WOW! Sue, what wonderful costumes! Thank you for sharing the pictures with
us all. :)
What's everyone making these days? I'm finishing a hawaiian shirt for my
sweetie, and will start some cute pants out of some stretchy linen I found
on sewingstudio.com, that is once the fabric arrives. Have I mentioned I'm
in school this quarter 2 nights a week, and having my condo painted, so I
have a lot of other stuff to do? ;)
Thanks again for sharing with us, Sue! You did a beautiful job.
Cheers,
Helen in Seattle

Sue,
These are stunning costumes!! I didn't follow this thread closely so I
imagined it was something quick you put together for a little kiddy school
play. But my goodness, these are professional grade! I hope you can reuse
them lots of times, it would be such a shame if they had to go in a closet
at the end of this exercise.
If you have a moment, I'd love to hear some tips on sewing lame and taffeta,
as it seems these fabrics are really nasty to work with, and it would be
useful to hear how you dealt with them while it's all still painfully fresh!
;-)
Thanks,

Dear List Mom,
You did a fantastic job with those costumes, and in such a short time, too!
Thank you for sharing the photos. It was wonderful being able to see them.

:-))))))) That is so typical of our children. They think Mom's can do it
all! And of course, your son knew that he was right!
Lovely!

Sue,
As someone who just finished a measly five costumes for her daughter's
school play, all I can say is WOW!! The costumes are absolutely
gorgeous, and clearly none of them was a half-hour project. I have no
idea how you did it, but congratulations!

Hi it really depends on what your needs are. If you are looking for a basic

Dear Sewing Friends,
School here is out in 2 weeks. On the one hand, I'm hopeful that I will
finally get some time to do some sewing again. (On the other hand, I may be
even more busy with my 3 demanding sons out of school.) Also, I've been sick
in bed the last couple of weeks with pneumonia & asthmatic bronchitis. Today
is the first day that I've been out of the house (if only to go to the Dr.
for me & then for one of my sons). Talk about getting cabin fever!
To make this more on sewing, I am looking forward to making some
decorated shirts for me (2000DCE serger & 1630 sewing machine), plus doing
some quilting, both wall hangings and pillows. (I like applique.)
Happy Sewing,
Marianne in frigid Michigan,
where we have been setting record low temperatures here lately, every night,
with rain, etc. We have a freeze-frost warning again tonight. Can't wait to
get our summer annuals (bought & planted)! I feel really sorry for the
farmers. This could hit many of us in the grocery stores later this year (not
to mention the areas of the country that are parched & hot). We may be
running our furnace in July at this rate!
