Hi, If your friend used her credit c ard to make the purchase or to send
money, she does have recourse. Let the credit card co. know asap that it was
a fraudulent deal. She will hopefully not have to pay for it. Judy F

The review was in the Milwaukee Journal and was from the Boston Globe by

It had a picture of the book cover too!

You're famous!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and grandmoms. I hope every one of
you is having fun and spending at least a little time today sewing. I
know that was one of my requests for Mother's Day: time to sew! (The
second one was to have someone else wash the dishes today.)

I will be working on a baby quilt today for my new grandchild who was
born last Friday. I've actually been working on it for some time, but it
turned out to be more labor intensive than I expected. Fortunately, I
didn't tell my son or DIL that I was making it, so I am not suffering
pangs of pressure and guilt because the baby got here before the quilt
was finished. Instead, they will be pleasantly surprised when I do
present the quilt. Perhaps they will even think I didn't start it until
after the child was born, and that instead of a late present, they are
getting one that was made in record time!

I'm using the "Five Little Duckies" pattern that Quiltmaker Magazine
printed as it's Project Linus pattern this year. It consists of four
rows of five paper pieced ducks with watery blue sashing between the
rows and the same blue for the borders. For the embroidered eye on each
duck I used stitch number F8 on my 1530. It's a satin stitched oval. I
programmed the machine to stitch just one motif which I placed
vertically on the duck's head. I left long thread tail which I will pull
to the back and tie off. (I used two layers of Solvy underneath the
fabric to stabilize it.)

Oh, and the best piece of news about the grandchild is that it's a girl!
Girls are so much more fun to sew for than boys. Now I'll even have an
excuse to make doll clothes. Maybe I should buy one of those
American Girl dolls. I could play with it until my granddaughter is old
enough.
