Marcia,

Due to this discussion, it just occurs to me that it could be used to quilt
in circular patterns without having to mark your quilt first. Imagine doing
various sizes of circles per block. I'm going to try it and add the idea to
my web site if it works as well as I'm thinking it will.

made a baby quilt back in the fall which I quilted in concentric
circles......marking is no fun either......wish I had thought of that then.

The circle maker is not really a foot. It's an adapter that fits under the
foot that guides the fabric in a circle. You can use any foot according to
the stitch you want to use.

I've used mine to make patches and coasters. Most of the coasters have been
test runs on the embroidery machine. I just put a piece of plastic under
the fabric and sew one of the satin stitches on the machine for a border. I
also made some round pockets on a shirt one time. Just put two layers right
sides together and straight stitch a circle. Cut a small slit on one layer
close to the stitching and turn the circle. You can then sew the circle on
leaving about 1/4 of the circle unsewed. Turn the unsewed part down and
press. If I remember correct I did a feather stitch abound the circle
before I put it on the shirt.

Hello,
I have a Bernina 1030 and a 1130, but when I wanted a new machine with an
alphabet I purchased the Elna Heirloom edition. I like it a lot.

When I purchased it, I asked the salesperson to open the box in the
store and
try it out because I would be too inexperienced to know whether any
glitch was
due to me or the machine.

She did that and found a problem and immediately boxed it up again, opened
another one for me and tested that one. It was all right and I was
reassured when
I brought it home that I could go through the manual and the lessons I
received and
that I could trust the machine and the instructions. That was over a
year ago and
it has worked fine ever since.
