Summer Mystery Quilt

I developed this mystery for my guild, Illinois Quilters, Inc. and posted it to QuiltBee and Quiltnet; feel free to share it with your friends, just let them know where you got it! There are only 4 parts. If you do the mystery, I would appreciate a photograph of the resulting top.

Summer Mystery Quilt - Part 4

Please, be sure you've completed Part 3 before beginning Part 4

Step IX Joining triangle squares to accent pairs

Layout is important for this step.

On the left stack 24 triangle squares with the background to the upper left and the focus fabric to the lower right. Next to it on the right place the remaining 24 accent pairs with the medium light fabric above the medium dark. To the right of this place the remaining 24 triangle squares with the background to the upper right and the focus fabric on the lower left. Press toward the triangles.

Step X Completing block# 2

Insert a string of 2 inch squares from step VIII between two pieces from step IX. Layout is important. Make sure background triangles are in four outer corners. Press toward the triangles. Block #2 is complete and should measure 8 inches.

Putting it all together:
Row 1: 1-2-1-2-1
Row 2: 2-1-2-1-2
Row 3: 1-2-1-2-1
Row 4: 2-1-2-1-2
Row 5: 1-2-1-2-1

You may find you want to enlarge the quilt, feel free to make extra blocks to do so.

Borders as desired. I made one with a 4 inch plain border, another with a scrap nine patch border.

I call this pattern Dot and Dash due to the churn dash block featured.

Feel free to share this mystery with your own guild.

I would appreciate photographs of the resulting quilts.
