Turn at the sign onto a very narrow dirt road. Follow the road straight ahead
to a small house on the left. You'll see a sign "BJ's". She is located in the
basement of the house .. enter through the back. VERY friendly, LOTS of
fabrics, and VERY helpful. What a find!!! She offers the use of her sewing
machines at her shop if you are travelling and have the urge to sew! You'll
be pleasantly surprised and LOVE her shop! Please check the hours!
Her shop is WELL worth the experience!!! I visit EVERY year when I visit
Oregon. It's a MUST on my list!

Comments: This is inside the Galleria. If you want to fondle pricey imported cottons, silks and wools, this is the place. If you like *very* fine silk, cotton, wool, and rayon fabrics, this is the store! They also have a fantastic button selection.
Comments: Still there, still pricey, still stuffed with gorgeous fabric and buttons.
Comments: They'll be moving soon (fall 99?) so call to get on the mailing list. Prices may seem high, but this is good quality stuff; and if you're a comparative shopper you'll notice that the same fabric at the another store (if you can find it elsewhere) is the same or more. The service is wonderful--very
friendly and knowledgeable--nobody else will spend that kind of time with
you. They have a large selection of linen, cotton knits from Austria,
Liberty cottons, all kinds of silk, wool (the most underused fiber as far as
I'm concerned) of every weight and color, and many rayon prints. You have to
feel to believe.

Comments: The main store in Portland moved a few blocks to a new location. The new store has a 73,000 sq ft. The roof has three different types of skylights so the fabric can be viewed in natural light.

The owner Sue will cut fat quarters off any bolt, but usually has the fat quarter already cut. Lots of classes offered and a very friendly atmosphere. Sue carries all thelatest books and tries to carry a good asortment of patterns for the quilter that also makes clothes
Comments: No affiliation just a very satisfied customer. She tries to carry high end fabrics such as Hoffman along with the good cottons that are necessary to a quilter. She has filled a real need as the nearest fabric shop that caters to quilters in is Portland 29 miles away. There are toys for a small child to play with. Also Sue's minature schnauzer(sp?) is there but is not an obnoxious dog and is human friendly. She is active in the local quilt club which meets at a nearby church on the first Wednesday of the month.
She has a block of the month pattern and fq for $2 and then displays them and depending on how many are made has a drawing for a winner take all. She has been in business for two years now and is building up a good amount of fabric and has them well displayed by color, with solids in a place all of their own. A fun place to visit and find that new fabric for your stash.
