On May 8th 2004, I am to be hosting another show of antique quilts on display in the small village of Neustadt,ON.(Birthplace of the right Hon. John Deifenbaker) to raise funds for a new Community Hall to which we are in desperate need of to stay with the times. Quilts will be on display in the current hall on Enoch St. I have limited space for only 100 quilts and 25 antique aprons. The guest speaker is Chrissie Nash(of Quilters' Line, Markdale,ON.) whom will educate us all with her knowledge of the Underground Railroad Quilts. The cost for the event is $5 in advance and $6 at the door. This includes a slice of delicious cake prepared and decorated specially for you by my grandmother Bernice Ellis-Whitney and a tea or coffee. There are door prizes, merchants mall and viewers choice. If you have quilts or aprons to display please call as soon as possible to insure the placement of your quilt(s). Sure to be a grand time for all. This years show will have a Banner..feature
corner as well as over 170 other quilts.
There will be a Challenge display, a feature
quilter, classes, ufos. You will have the
opportunity to view mostly hand quilted
items. Lunch is available.Raffle quilt ticket as
well as items for sale and a craft area. This year
we will have a display of old sewing machines as well.
