Our question this week comes Llynnda:

I have heard rumors and rumblings about dying in Mason jars using three colors of Rit dye - it seems to be the loudest from "down under'', Australia way and I am eager to hear more.

Caroline :

Ask any spinner or fibre artist that you may know, and they will tell you that this is a time-honoured way of dyeing yarn or fleece with powdered dyes or, easier, kool-aid drinks. Cotton fabrics , dyes, and mordants, and heat are in their vocabularys.

I don't know the answer, but if you do a search with "rit dye jar" as your key words, you will find some very interesting projects. (I used Google for my search engine.)
