Question of the Week
Question for the week of April 10, 2000:
Our question this week comes from kl.max
I have recently volunteered to make the prize and participation ribbons
for my guild's Challenge 2000 and I would love to receive some ideas,
pointers, and information on books and patterns available on making
prize ribbons./H2>
Janelle McCollum :
How about a paper pieced medallion with silk ribbon trailers? You could make them all the same, or in different colors schemes to indicate prize.
Tamy :
Last year I did the very same thing our annual quilt show wanted 16 ribbons . It was a trial and error thing for me, but I made flowers and gathered fabric rings and yo-yos work too. I started with a circle of card board and covered it with a yo-yo ,for my base and built up from there, to finish off the center I used a button , I also used hot glue to put everything together regular glue would work it would just take longer to dry, for the hanging ribbon I used white fabric and fuseable web I used white so that I could use my computer software for the writting , print the writting out any size you need and trace it on with a light board I hope that this helps or atleaste gives you a place to start. I wish we could add pics to this..
