Jessica Four-Patch presents: Case #108

© 1997 Merry May

Make a 64" square quilt top which includes an optional friendship block swap mid-way through the series. Or, keep all of your own blocks and gather your own bunches of signatures for your quilt. After all, as they say, "Friends are the Flowers in the Garden of Life!"

Please complete Part 2 before going on.

*** Part 3 ***

Count out sixteen (16) of your Fabric A & C half-square triangle units you made during Part 1, and sew them to sixteen (16) of the 2 1/2" by 4 1/2" rectangles of Fabric A you previously cut out so they look like this:

Check the diagram frequently to be sure you are assembling these units correctly.
Press seam allowances toward your Fabric C.

With 48 of your Fabric A & C half-square triangle units you made during Part 1, make four identical rows that look like the diagram below. There should be twelve (12) units in each row.

Using the large triangle units you previously cut from Fabrics A and C, make sixteen (16) units which look like this:

Press seam allowances toward your Fabric C.
These units should measure 4 1/2" square (unfinished size).

That's all for now, folks! Jessica will be looking for you next time, when she'll provide you with Part 4 of Case #108.
