Sue's Virtual Shopping Trip

Join me on a virtual shopping trip to my favorite Bernina store, Fabric Gallery in Cheshire, Connecticut.

At least one Saturday a month, my husband, Eric, and I travel to my favorite Bernina store. Fabric Gallery is located at 7 South Main Street in Cheshire. Shirley Sobolewski is the owner/manager as well as an excellent instructor.

Here I am in front of the store. For those coming from other areas, South Main Street is also known as Route 10. The Fabric Gallery is right next to the Cheshire Town Green and is across the street from the Watch Factory Shoppes. (Where quilters can find Calico Etc., another of my favorite stores, but that's for another shopping trip.) map showing where you can find Fabric Gallery

Shirley carries a large number of accessories and feet. Here I'm looking at the collection of feet and Bernina brochures. It was a tough decision, but I decided on the #41, directional stitching foot for my 1630, and #24 freehand embroidery foot for machine quilting. I also got issue #4 of the Serger Library and several SergerEasy leaflets with great Christmas gift ideas.

Of course, the Fabric Gallery carries fabric. Here I'm looking at some nice summer wovens. As well as having a nice selection of dressmaking fabrics &supplies, the Gallery also carries patterns, knits, and bridal fabrics. Today, I decided that I'd better sew up some of the fabric I have at home before I buy any more. I did make the outfit I have on today using my 2000DCE serger.

And finally, no trip to the Fabric Gallery is complete with a swing by the Deco 500. Hopefully, this will be my Christmas gift from Eric this year. The Deco would go so well with my 1630 and my 2000DCE. My friends from the Bernina Fan Club have really got me excited about the creative possibilities of the Deco.
To the left of the picture you can see Shirley waiting on a customer. Sorry we didn't get a better picture of her.

So I head for home, anxious to play with my new toys and thinking about my next visit to the Fabric Gallery. Next Monday night is Serger Club night. Wonder what I'll be doing with that black t-shirt ??

Many thanks to Shirley for letting us take this virtual shopping trip.
