Subject: Re: Boiled Wool

Hello Cindy,
Eunice Farmer has a super Bernina shop in St. Louis and I think she teaches
a class on boiled wook plus she has wonderful fabric too. I am at home so
I don't have the info on her phone number with me but you should be able to
get it from the Bernina Home Page since they are now giving dealer location
information out. The name of her shop is Eunice Farmer Fabrics p she also
writes a sewing column for many of the larger cities newspapers so you may
know her from that. Her daughter, Vicki is great with info too. Good
luck!

You can request an American Girl catalogue from the Pleasant Company at
www.americangirl.com and they have patterns or purchase 18" doll
patterns from Simplicity, McCalls or Butterick. - Kate

Subject: Re: Bernina Dealers

Mel,
Bernina dealers need a Christmas break, too! :)

I do think she should have posted a sign about her shop being closed.
The Bernina shop I worked at for a while always closed from Christmas Eve
til after New Years' Day, but the owner made sure that all her customers
knew this. There were signs posted, it was in her monthly class
schedule/newsletter, and we reminded each customer as they left the shop.

I would let her know you had come by and were disappointed to find the
shop closed. Someone may have forgotten to post the sign, or have been late
in opening the shop, and if I were a shop owner, I would want to know.

Hope this will help!

Subject: MODEL 730 RECORD

We purchased this model in the early 60's and is still going strong. If
needed, are parts still available for it. What would it's value be towards a
trade in for a computer model? Know of any local dealers in the Sandhills of
N.C. around Southern Pines or Rockingham? Thanks Don

Subject: new iron!!!

Seems the iron subject is making the circuit once again and I'd like to add
my two cents!

During a 25% off sale at my dealer, I splurged and bought the Bernette
ProGlidePlus. I had seen it on a couple of sewing shows and though it looked
good.

Let me tell you, folks, this is one heckuva steam machine!!! I am SO very
favorably impressed with this iron. I have been limping along with an old
Rowenta that hardly breathed one atom of moisture on its foggiest setting
for years! I really LOVE this iron...and, needless to say, I recommend it
highly.

Regards and Happy New Year to one and all, CArol G.

Subject: Pro Glide Iron

Anyone have one of the Bernette Pro Glide Plus irons? I'm fed up with
Rowenta's. I've had two and neither one has worked well for different
reasons.
I'm not sure what I'm going to try next.

Subject: Baltimore Allbum patterns for embroidery machines

Hi all, and Happy New Year,

My DH got me a Deco 600 for Christmas. Have to read all the directions
and watch the video yet. Saw the PBS America Sews show, and also heard
we could download ALL the beautiful embroidery patterns she had done on
the Baltimore quilt. Has anyone found the site yet?? I would just LOVE
to be able to download those patterns; thought they were just
beautiful--a real 'must have" for me. I tried the craftnetvillage site,
but the patterns were not on that site.(maybe I just didn't look in the
right area.)
Don't mean to babble on, but if anyone has found the site, PLEASE post
it on this site.

Sandra,
Singer has some very nice "how to do it" books out. They are located in
the reference section of lots of fabric stores. JoAnn's in particular.
It is called Sewing for Special occassions. Nice directions and
suggestions and problem solving. Hope this helps
